Phoenix area solar home sales dipped in July in the Phoenix area according to recent data from the Arizona Regional Multiple Listing Service (ARMLS) from July 1-31, 2018.
Phoenix Solar Sales in General
There were a total of 322 solar home sales in Maricopa County for the month of July, down 11% from the previous month yet accounts for over 5% of the total resale sales volume for the month. Homes with a solar leases (whether monthly lease payments or prepaid monthly solar leases) accounted for 215 of the sales while homes with solar owned electric systems accounted for the balance of 107 of the Phoenix area solar home sales in July 2018.
Median Price for Phoenix Solar Homes
The median price for a solar home in July in Phoenix dropped to $300,000, up from the $319,500 seen in June. Leased solar homes had a median price of $283,000 while the median price for a solar owned home was $325,900. The median price for a single family residence in Maricopa County in July was $290,000.
Marketing Time for Solar Homes
The median days on the market for a resale home in Maricopa County was 37 days in July. Solar in general stayed within reach of the average market with an median time to sell at 39 days (down from 42 in June). Phoenix homes with a solar owned system took a median of 38 days while Phoenix area homes with solar leases were on par with the market at 39 days. The average days on the market for a solar home in Maricopa County was 53 days versus a market average of 54 days (solar leases had an average market time of 52 days while solar owned was 56 days).
